Reconciliation
"Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed."
James 5:16
The Sacrament of Reconciliation (also commonly referred to as Confession or Penance) is one of two sacraments of healing and is reserved to the ministry of the priesthood, as they are the ordinary mode of binding and loosing sins. Through this sacrament, we confess our sins, express true sorrow, and receive absolution – being restored in grace and reconciled with God and the Church.
At St. Joseph Catholic Church, we invite all the faithful to experience the healing and peace that comes through Reconciliation. Whether it’s been a few weeks or many years, you are always welcome.

Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation
At St. Joseph Catholic Church, children typically prepare for First Reconciliation in the 2nd grade as part of our Religious Education Program. This is a two-year formation process for baptized children at least seven years old.
To be considered a sacramental candidate, children must have the equivalent of two consecutive years of faith formation — beginning in 1st grade and culminating in 2nd grade with the celebration of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
For more information, please contact Mary Claire Griffin, CCD & Sacramental Coordinator.
